Default Thread For Nissan Pavillion Show Traffic Controversy

We just spent like three or four hours trying to get to this show and got turned away at the gate.. We were in a whole line of traffic, at least another hour's worth was still behind us. How many other people got turned away from this show? We saw NO SHOW.. Is there any recourse?

We were in the car for 4 hours and live only 40 minutes from the pavillion. They barricaded the road to the pavillion about 4 cars in front of us. Incredibly disappointing.

That's pretty fucked up. The venue should be contacted at the very least, if not the local police department if they were in charge of directing traffic. If you pre-ordered a ticket, contact the vendor for a refund.

I mean, get an explanation at the very least. If that happened to me, I'd be fuming.

Yeah we bought our tickets. The lot apparently filled up. People were standing around their cars jammed at the entrance. We were FIVE CARS away when the cops put up the orange cones and said "SHOW IS OVER, GO BACK [THE OTHER WAY]" and that was it. Funneled us back out to 66.

We got through to a friend of ours (finally) who was inside, and he said they'd just started the second set.

There was a lot of flooding all around Nokesville because of this ridiculous rain, and a LOT of backup on all roads leading to the venue. Can't imagine how many people are still going through the line getting turned back right now.

Hey, I'm in the same boat. Didn't make it to the gate, but knew something had to be up at the gate. Can't believe they were turning people away.

I said in the other thread that I don't really care about the money, and I still don't, but they better give it back if they weren't letting people in.

We actually gave up because the show was half over and we were still more than a mile away! Never in my life have I seen anything like this. TONS of people who had tickets didn't get to see the show; most probably aren't home yet. This is going to be a huge deal tomorrow.

Weird: The Merriweather show during the Hail to the Thief tour was the only time in my memory during the last decade that a Radiohead appearance in the DC area wasn't marred in some way by storm/flooding related fiascos. Remember Tibetan Freedom Concert and cancellation of two Bull Run concerts.

Very disappointed tonight,
Ryan
